The Hong Kong Government gazetted the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Bill 2022 on 24 June 2022. The bill proposes several amendments to the ordinance governing anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) in Hong Kong. One of the major amendments introduced is the creation of a new licensing regime for virtual asset service providers (VASPs).
